What started as a small effort to support local producers during a challenging time has grown into an ongoing initiative that supports our community and local businesses. Every hamper sold is a step toward making a positive impact.
Orders are open now, offering various sizes and price ranges, with options to meet specific needs.
Got questions or ready to order? Send us an email at milduradeakinrotaryhampers@gmail.com as soon as you can (preferably by the end of August).
We’re excited to chat about your needs!
Supporting locally grown produce
The idea stemmed to purchase locally grown products from smaller local suppliers who had no markets and opportunities to sell during Covid lockdowns in 2020.
We packaged the goods into various size hampers and were able to market these at the local Sunraysia Farmers markets which proved to be very popular Christmas and Thank-you gifts! It also provided an opportunity for fellowship and getting our members together through a difficult time when gatherings were restricted and we all craved some social interaction!
Each year we have sourced new suppliers and products to change up our range and have expanded to also cater for businesses wishing to purchase gifts for their staff or suppliers.
Our producers have included: Personalitea, Robinvale Estate, Murray River Salt, Mildura Chocolates, Orange world, Go Just Nuts, Just Figs, Mallee Bee Honey, Stefanos, Coffee Que, Australian Garlic, Oak Valley Estate, Tabletop Grapes, Varapodia Estate and Geo Origins.
Community Impact
This project has not only enabled us to support local businesses but the profits from sale of our hampers enable us to provide financial support to causes such as Youth and Leadership and enabled us to make a substantial donation to the Dr Julie Zrna Centre.
If you are a local producer who would like to consider being one of our suppliers for hampers, please get in touch via our website.
